There is a internet use policy in use for our students. Unfortunately, our students try to bypass the system as well as use the internet inappropriately. I plan on making copies of http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/TeachingLib/Guides/Internet/EvalForm_General_Barker.pdfand http://webpages.pvbears.org/hslibrary/Web%20Checklist7-12.htmfor my students to look at. Then I plan on having a lesson with my students giving them these forms and having a discussion on how to decide if the website is credible. I would also take them to http://descy.50megs.com/descy/webcred/webcred/dhmo.html to see how well they understood the lesson. For my seventh graders I would also probably go to wikipedia to show them inaccuracies found there. This would meet the NETS Standard IV by giving students resources to evaluate their own websites.

This meets NETS Standard 5 (Digital Citizenship) by showing students responsible use of technology.
